Tulip at brewery.
Hazy copper in color with a towering off-white head that laces impeccably.
Light funk, fruity yeast, vanilla, and a little peat smoke.
Roll out the barrel! The aging is readily apparent in flavors of oak, butterscotch, and bourbon. There’s faint hardwood smoke and a medium bitterness.
Soft, luxurious body. Carbonation follows.
I haven’t tried the base beer, but it’s not terribly smokey. The barrel is probably hiding most of it. It’s a nice, calm barrel aged beer.
