CANNED ON 07/16/2020 on bottom of can. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Slightly hazy apricot hue with 2-finger frothy off-white head that doesn't leave any lacing.
S: Fruity aroma of apricot and peach with mild sulfur but also solid pale malt background aromas.
T: Stellar flavor, fruity without being at all cloying. Apricot flavor with appropriate sulfur with cereal grain malt background really supporting beautifully. I like the higher heft but wonder how a lighter version would compare. Tart and minimally sour. Low bitterness and no yeast esters but interesting sour lactic flavors.
M: I think this beer could use a bit more carbonation to lighten and brighten the overall package, but it does drink lighter than 7% already so maybe I'm off.
O: This beer surprised me with its balance of lactic tartness, fruity sweetness, sulfur, and pale malt and wheat background. Really and excellent fruited kettle sour - Vasen should be really proud of this beer.
