32oz crowler filled at the source for approximately $20.
Poured into a 23oz mug, this was a dark, ruby color, with a modest and rather short-lived head that was beige and bubbly.
Sweet caramel malt aromas, relatively restrained.
Pretty much like the nose, except that there's a boozy warmth deep on the back end. No hop character to speak of.
Medium bodied, with a kinda sluggish, flabby mouth feel, as if undercarbonated.
Maybe this wasn't filled properly, but I'm not very impressed. It's just this side of drinkable, but I'm not sure it's worth drinking all 32 oz. Disappointing, as I had saved it specifically for this evening, to celebrate starting a new chapter of my life and ending an old one.
