Served from a keg into a clear, plastic cup at First Friday block party, Love Lane, Mattituck, NY
A: Pours a copper to brown color with a quarter inch, eggshell white head with only modest retention, but good lacing.
S: Floral bouquet with aromas of bread, honey, and licorice.
T: Dry. Non-specific fruitiness and light caramel flavors. Bitterness somewhat in excess of sweetness.
M: Medium bodied with solid carbonation. Fairly refreshing.
O: Bitterness somewhat out of step with sweetness, but drinkable and refreshing.
Nota bene: Sampled a second time on tap at CJ’s American Grill in Mattituck, NY on 7/29/2018. Color more golden to amber and bitterness a bit toned down but still out of step. Appear to be tinkering with the formula and I would advocate continuing to do so.
