16 ounce can into snifter, canned on 2/14/2019. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/fairly tart/tangy strawberries, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, coffee, dark fruit, nuts, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of strawberries, chocolate, lactose, dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/fairly tart/tangy strawberries, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of molasses, coffee, dark fruit, nuts, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, char bitterness; and berry tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy strawberries, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, toasted dark/brown bread, light molasses/coffee, dark fruit, nuts, smoke, char, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, chocolate, lactose, dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a nice roast/hop bitter/sweet and fruit tang/tartness balance; with no cloying, and minimal acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness, and fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky/acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 10.6% after the finish. Overall this is an excellent fruited imperial milk stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of strawberries, chocolate, lactose, dark/roast/bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the bit ABV, with the modestly bitter/tart/tangy/drying finish. A little too bitter/drying than expected, but not overwhelming on any aspect. Awesome balance of nicely jammy berries, malts, Belgian chocolate, and lactose; with good earthy hop presence. Mild lingering sweetness with lingering bitter dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.
