Smooth as velvet. Specialty malt gives this beer notes of caramel and dark chocolate.

A - Pours pitch black with a one finger fizzy tan head. Light amount of clingy lacing.

S - Aroma is dark chocolate, caramel and vanilla.

T - The taste is big black coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, peanuts and roasted malts.

M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Soft mouthfeel with a crisp dry finish.

O - Nice easy drinking stout.

Every thing was really good if coffee forward stouts are your thing. It is very good, no doubt. Deep and rich and just a little harsh from, I am guessing from the coffee, looking forward to other lengths.

The best non-flavored stout that I've even had. The richness excels.

This was a very solid imperial stout from a great local brewery. Obtained this fresh via crowler. Pours a syrupy jet-black opaque color with just a little tan head and small rings of lingering lacing that slowly faded. Huge aromas of dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, caramel, vanilla, malt, lighter roasted nuts and some faint brown sugar. Taste follows the nose, very well-balanced with great depth. High ABV was not in your face even as the beer warmed. This one paired well with savory dinner and did not have to be sipped too slowly. Smooth, slightly sticky mouthfeel which was smooth going down. Just the right amount of carbonation. A very good beer, just not quite as good as their 5 Hour Stout.
