Dark, copper-red body; thick, sticky, frothy head. Rich scent of toasted malts. Roasted grain taste with a balanced touch of sweetness; caramel notes infused with some tea-like qualities; very mild hop bitterness. Medium body; warm; soothing residual sugars coat the palate; mostly dry finish.
This beer is rated at 5.6% ABV on the can and on the beer board at the brew pub. The beer itself is straight-ahead malt forward, not too hoppy or bitter, not too sweet, and certainly not too boozy. Excellent depth and balance with the flavors and feel; very pleasing to the eye and nose.
