Dark ruby and mahogany body; thin head but leaves a sheet of foam inside the glass. Robust roasted grain aroma; nutty and woody. The taste follows along with the smell; malty caramel and roasted grains. Medium body; warm and toasty.
A very tasty red ale although one is hard pressed to pick up any barrel aging notes other than, perhaps, a slight oak-like woodiness. Still, a fine malt-forward beer and easy drinking.
