Sparkling clear amber body; very fine and slowly rising carbonation bubbles; thick and sticky white head, sheets of foam coat the glass. Grassy and herbal nose; dank and earthy. The taste also comes across as earthy and resinous; notes of crystal malt; dull sweetness; toasted malt. Medium body; crystal-like sweetness on the palate; semi-dry and crisp.
This beer delivers a nice, nearly old-style American IPA experience. Colorado Select malt (based on my cursory research) provides a mild and nutty base flavor. A very fine SMaSH mashup...
...and let's not forget Lyle Lovett's "it's not big, it's large" band...
