A strong, smooth amber colored ale dominated by sweet caramel & toffee notes balanced with Warrior hops.
Aged for around 6 months in bourbon barrels from Axe & Oak distillery. It was the second run through the barrels because we wanted more of the oak flavor than the whiskey for this one.

Some toffee, some bread, a little sweetness and a little bourbon. The pour was gorgeous, deep mahogany with the appropriate colored highlights and capped with a tall light brown head. The taste had me sipping and sipping some more, just so enjoyed drinking this one. Thanks Dave!

This is lovely, I get lots of toffee plus some short bread and a little sugar cookie. I love this combination in a barleywine but not many seem to be made that way. Additional sweetness comes in the form of brown sugar, dates, light raisin. There is some balancing bitterness in the form of oak and earthy hop, for the most part this is a malt bomb with restrained sweetness. I can't put my finger on which, but this reminds me of something else I loved. What a great barley wine that I never would have even heard of let alone tried, thanks Dave!

Medium-dark amber body, clear; moderate, slow-rising carbonation; then yet lasting head, creamy and sticky; thin sheets of foam cloak the glass interior. Incredible flavors; rich, decadent caramel and toffee notes; light brown sugar; decent amount of bitterness offsetting the heavy sweetness; moderate yet tamed boozy undercurrent; earthy esters. Heavy body; dense and velvety; big yet gentle alcohol warmth; clinging residual sugars coat the palate; slight undercurrent of dryness.
Wow! This fantastic malt-bomb is the bomb!! There is a heavy presence of thick, earthy malt goodness nicely counterpointed with a decent hop presence with a sneaky high-voltage note of alcohol coursing through the beers dense depths. Well-rounded and powerful, very tasty.
Pouring temperature: 51 °F; bottling info: n/a although the beer was released at the brewery December 30th, 2022

Hi David,
Thanks for reaching out and we're glad you liked the beer! We aged it for around 6 months in bourbon barrels from Axe & Oak distillery. It was the second run through the barrels because we wanted more of the oak flavor than the whiskey for this one. We aged a different beer in the barrels first that absorbed most of the bourbon flavor.
Cheers!
