Rye IPA
A bright citrus and pine aroma with a pleasant malty backbone. A small amount of malted rye lends a hint of earthy spice which balances against a subtle bitterness for a crisp, satisfying finish.

Semi-dull and partially cloudy copper look; dense, lively carbonation; thick, sudsy head, cap is semi-creamy and rocky textured; thick, sticky, spidery webs of foam decorate the glass. Initial smells of beer wort and wet hops; transitions into a bit more dull caramel and toffee. The taste picks up a bit more from the smell; softer caramel notes; a modicum of rye spiciness; slight to moderate hop bitterness and spiciness. Medium-heavy body; lightly chewy; mild alcohol and grain warmth.
Jeez, I'd like to like this beer a bit more, but it seems a bit 'under-done'. By that, it's like the fermentation was almost but not quite complete. The rye character has a pretty slim presence. The beer seems 'muddy' in that things just haven't quite come together. This said, it's drinkable, just very forgettable for a rye-influenced beer.
ABV: 4.9%; pouring temperature: 52.3 °F; canning info: n/a
