Clear, dark brown pour, opaque body in the glass; thick, densely creamy tan head, long-lasting and then drops to a thin version with all the initial attributes of color and density. Beautiful aroma, balanced and layered with complexity; various chocolate styles, caramel, vanilla; bare trace of whiskey. Rich milk chocolate taste with notes of barrel wood and bourbon; dark grain char; muted bitterness. Heavy body; smooth and silky on the palate; mild and lingering stickiness.

This well-crafted barrel-aged imperial stout focuses on the base beer primarily with the six month barrel aging, while present, is left more in the background. This approach, in my opinion, makes for a more delightful beer drinking experience.
