this place seems to have sprung up out of nowhere, very little fanfare or anything, but its a cool place and all the beer in here so far has been real well made. this is an early favorite for me, a pale wheat beer brewed with juniper berries. i wanted it to be a little more out there, a little more different with the juniper, but its a cool subtlety to a well made dry wheat beer, and i think it really works well in a summer or high volume drinking context. the berries give it a bright botanical complexion on the nose which is nice with the fresh grassy hops, and the wheat is light and dry, pale as can be, and an appropriate base for delicate flavor to be built upon. the juniper has some bitterness in the taste, a floral aspect, and a clean sort of lightly piquant vibe towards the finish. cereal malt flavors and a very light bittering hop, sort of european. with the hops and the juniper and the wheat, this has an almost saison complexion to it, even without the yeast. bone dry and well carbonated, nice when ice cold from the tap but also warms up well. tasty and distinct, although still subtle enough to have wide appeal. this should become a house favorite for these guys!
