L: Pours a dark amber red with a medium white head and no lacing.

S: Earthy nutty malt, mixes with a light hint of smoke for a very inviting aroma.

T: Wonderful red ale taste, nutty, earthy and malty with a kiss of smoke to makes a super tasty red ale.

F: Medium body and good carbonation

O: Utterly delightful red ale.

Reddish in color, like a cola. Head was tan, maybe a bit darker than tan. Nose definitely malty. Taste was also malty with a warmth like pepper, but certainly not from ABV. Nice caramel, malt, bready flavor across palate.

 

 

Tawny red color; clear; thick khaki head, dense and spongy. Malty scent with an earthy spiciness. Malty, spicy taste; cinnamon; light hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body; somewhat light yet velvety feel; fine residual sugar feel on the palate.

A very nice, tasty brew, balanced. Gonna have to scrounge up a pack of this beer.

from a 12 oz can.. Pours a hazed light copper color with a fresh white head. Smell is malty with citrus hops and baked bread . taste has fruity dank notes of dark fruits malt bread ,,grainy. Mouth is dank and fruited with hops its malty with some lingering bitterness .

This is a solid red, which is a style that's fallen out of favor for some reason. Instead of having your 2173892th IPA, try something different! This one does have a bit of hop kick to it, but enough malt to not be super bitter. Nicely balanced, and the lowish ABV makes this a great staple of their lineup.

Had on tap at Fire On the Mountain Highlands, Denver

On arrival 1 finger of fine barely khaki head was present that over a couple minutes recedes to a decent ring and covering. Body is a dark nearly brown red. Thin lacing forms.

Aroma is verging on English ale with a nice malt forward aroma. Sweet and slightly roasty as well as I belive English ale esters that throw some fruity notes.

Taste follows the aroma but some light again british hops (or at least German) poke their head, although this is definitely a malty beer that carries roasty caramel and toffee as well as some slid nutty notes. Perhaps some slight American bittering hops, but this is a malt lover's amber, which I happen to be!

The feel is full and mouthcoatingly malty but the finish carries some attenuation dryness which I can appreciate as it does bring out the hops slightly. Quite drinkable and not as heavy as a winter warmer as it shoud be.

Overall this is a very satisfying amber ale, that I'd almost call an English brown, except it is still amber and made here in America.

 

Definitely a solid example of the style, malty and yummy. Highly enjoy this one and it supports firefighters.
