This is a take on their base Dark Hedges dry stout, with some peppermint sweetness that didn't come out until after the beer warmed up a bit. At first I thought it was just the base beer, but then I got a faint mint on the back end of the first couple of sips, and it definitely got more pronounced as I drank more. I'm glad this one wasn't overly sweet, because sometimes stouts like this can overdo the addition of whatever they're trying to put in, but I think they maybe could have added a touch more to really differentiate this beer from its base.

A: Jet black with a short lived tan head that finishes to a crown around the top.
S: coffee, roasty, sweet.
T: coffee, roasty, moderate bitterness. Finish is just roast, otherwise clean.
M: medium bodied
O: I'm not sure what the name is supposed to mean. It's just a nice dry stout, not really much of a sweet stout.

Very dark brown/black appearance, no head.
Aroma of chocolate and lactose.
Taste of chocolate, some bitterness. Slight candy cane finish.
Not bad, but I expected more of a candy cane presence.

From Beer Drop. Canned November 19th 2021.
It pours black with a finger of tan foam.
The smell is bitter from the roasted malt, some sweet chocolate and some presence of lactose.
The taste is light roasted malt bitterness, sweet chocolate, lactose, pretty sweet finish.
Good mouthfeel, decent beer.
