An American brown ale aged on pecans, this full bodied, yet dry finishing brown ale fills the gap between English style brown ales and robust porters. Cocoa and soft pecan aromas with a brown bread underlying malt sweetness. Deep chocolate and nutty tones saturate the palate with a delightfully subtle hoppy and sweet yet dry finish.

Had on tap at the brewery.
On arrival just under a finger of an actually quite deeply brown head was present on top of a dark brown body that lets some light through at the very bottom producing a ruddy reddish brown color where back-lit. Seems like it is quite dark and hazy for a brown ale, but we'll see. Some beautiful lacing does form however.
Aroma is malty and nutty, with a chocolate sweetness similar to dark chocolate. It comes off as pretty simple as the nuts and dark malts dominate.
Flavor is a bit more complex than the aroma with the chocolate sweetness dominating up front and a slow transition to a roaster, saltier, truly nutty dark finish. This flavor is strong and really overtakes the palate.
The feel is quite malty, thick, and heavy for the very normal abv. It even feels a bit warming just because of how thick and toasty it is. This is definitely more of an armchair sipper, but it is not overwhelming.
Overall I wish this was a bit less sweet and chocolatey and instead was more reminiscent of real pecans with some dryness and some crisper toasted malts. It was good, just more of a dessert beer.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours red brown with a fluffy light brown head. Smells of caramelized grain with nice nut tones, slight chocolate, slight pecan. Tastes of nice nutty grain with slight pecan and just a hint of chocolate. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.
