Enjoyed a pour at the taproom. Opaque black with a narrow tan head that is fairly persistent and leaves some spotty lacing.
Aroma is dark chocolate and roasty with a hint of milk chocolate sweetness and just a touch of fruitiness.
Tasty. Big and roasty with lots of chocolate; both bitter and dark and some milky sweet. A lingering, slightly charred and bitter finish. Alcohol is well hidden.
Mouthfeel is medium and rather smooth.
Tasty brew.

Draft at the taproom. Not sure why they won't do a 4 oz. pour, but whatever.
Black with brown edges, creamy mocha foam that takes awhile to settle down. Spotty lacing.
Aroma has a slight milk chocolate sweetness, carob and roast malt, light plum ester.
Taste is a little more bitter and roasty, creamy feel, light vote in the finish. Medium bodied but never thick or sticky, easy drinking considering the double digit ABV. Would be nice if they rolled this out again mid-winter.
