Collaboration with Other Half Brewing Co.
A few months back, Half Acre started distributing small amounts of beer to New York City. Our owners are easterners so they wanted to head in and spend time.
As you know, Other Half and Half Acre share a mutual affinity for brewing hoppy beers in urban megaplexes, so we decided to host them in Chicago and conjure liquids.
Rainbow Never Ends is a frankenstein of empiricism. A permablaze of tropical dankness, this 8.5% double IPA has it all: Idaho 7, Equinox, Citra, oats, toasted rice flakes, rice syrup solids, and a blend of American ale and German kölsch yeast. Please exhale through dryer sheets with this one, we’re not responsible for crooked looks from your neighbors.

Enjoyed this quite a bit. It doesn't have any one quality that screams out for notice but the blend of everything works well as a DIPA. The Citra, Idaho 7 & Equinox hops complement each other well. The resulting flavor is not something I've encountered much in IPAs, if at all. May not be for everyone certainly but I'm a fan. It does have some 'sticky' aspects to it in the mouthfeel as well. I hope HA makes this a yearly release.

Thanks to Thomas & Jenny for sharing!
Bright golden orange with sharp clarity. Delicate arcs of lacing in the glass. Patchy surface skim.
Aroma of eucalyptus, dried papaya, popcorn kernels.
Bitter citrus peel, grapefruit zest, leafy green resiny aftertaste. Dry but somewhat fruity, very lean bodied for a DIPA, moderate bitterness that builds with every sip. Light clover aftertaste. Medium carbonation level. Overall it's deceptively drinkable.
