i think its interesting that they named this weightless, because as pilseners go, it actually is pretty substantial, both in flavor and in mouthfeel, the name doesnt really fit like i thought and hoped it would. this has a really pretty golden color with a lot of bubbles rising up to join an inch of white head. near perfect clarity here. the grain profile is robust, crackery pils malt, real fresh, minerals and even a corn thing going on, a little metallic and a little sweet to my tastes, but pleasant and traditional enough. its a touch astringent, which i cant explain, but its fast and cleaned up well by the yeast before too long. the hops add more bitterness than flavor, but seem noble type. the beer tries to be light, but there is just a lot of flavor in here, more from the grain than i am used to, and a flavorful lager yeast strain as well. the high carbonation and finishing dryness keeps it drinkable, but this one gets lost in the crowd of american craft pils types to me, its not as refined or drinkable as the best in the field, but is pretty solid, especially as a palate cleanser with a hearty italian sub sandwich! its the hoppy stuff that i like the best from these guys...

Tasted in a pint glass from draft at the Half Acre taproom on October 19, 2017. Pils and Vienna base beer with acidulated malt to soften the water profile. Hopped with whole leaf greens in the whirlpool and fermented with a Danish lager yeast.

Had this on 2017-01-29 at the Half Acre Taproom in Chicago, IL on tap.
A - Orange-gold with a short white head and really nice lace
S - Wheat and corn bread, honey, light noble hops
T - Honey nut cheerios, herbal spice, mild citrus, mildly bitter. Delicious.
M - Medium-full body and medium carbonation. Very smooth.
O - A really tasty Dortmunder. Thumbs up.
