32oz howler, picked up at the Lincoln brewery this afternoon
A - huge pillow of frothy beige head caps an opaque & near black colored ale; rings of lacing down the glass
S - roasted barley, dark chocolate, pine, citrus
T - big juicy hop flavors couple well with the dark roasty malts; notes of grapefruit, orange, mango, pine, roasted barley, dark baker's chocolate
M - medium body, quite creamy with ample carbonation, finishes semi-dry, juicy, and bitter with zesty citrus and pine lingering on the palate with some astringent black malt
O - really solid black IPA - nice balance of roast, juiciness, and bitterness - could be a bit more bitter in my opinion. One of the better black IPAs I've had. Glad I decided to stop at the brewery on my way home from work today!

Sampled at the Tap Room on 2/10. Liked it so much, took some home.
Look is jet black with a tan/khaki head. Nice lacing on the glass.
Smell is Black IPA all the way. Roasted Chocolate with a nice balance of malt and piney resin.
Taste is balanced with the chocolate roasted malt, some coffee notes but highlighted by the piney, resiny hops.
Feel is deceptively full bodied for a 5.9% black ipa.
Overall a great offering from Half Acre. I like their Lead Feather but I can see this one eventually overtaking that one in a seasonal can format. It is that promising.
