Brewed to hum, targeting resin and blazing forest fruits, we used our house 2-row, Vienna, malted oats and malted wheat alongside Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic hops for expressive mango, citrus and peach qualities with a stabilizing dankness.

This beer is out of retirement! Another kick butt DIPA from Half Acre. I do like Deep Space over Wand, but Wand is a close second. Wand has a bit more bite. I think it must have a higher IBU.

16 oz. Can
CANNED ON: 08/29/19
Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice cloudy yellow/orangy color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, peach), nice little diesel like. The taste is pretty nice hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, peach), nice little diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a very nice brew. Nice to see it around here.

a: hazy dark orange color with some burnt yellow. large, 2 finger rocky white head
s: sweet malts, pineapple, pine, tea leaf, strawberry, spruce, resin, caramel, and some caramelized sugar
t: follows the nose pretty close. pine, spruce, oranges, strawberry and dry crackers. a touch of earthy grass and tea leaf as well
m: lighter side of medium with lower than medium carbonation
o: a bit light or a DIPA. a touch light in the mouthfeel, and a touch light on the malts (for me). it's a good beer, and has all the flavors of a DIPA, the mouthfeel is just lacking a bit

16 oz. can. Pours lightly hazy orange. Smells of tropical fruits for a brief moment before dank and pine hops. Some caramel malt and a dose of alcohol. Tastes, again, very briefly of tropical fruit before dank hops. Maybe more of a garlic flavor than dank, but the dank aroma still points the palate in that direction. Tropical fruit makes a brief appearance with a caramel malt and honey sweetness. Garlic hop bitterness and alcohol linger in the finish. Medium heavy. Low carbonation. If it weren't quite so boozy, I might really enjoy this. The profile is right up my alley, but the alcohol flavor is too strong.

Finally a beer I KNOW I’m gonna like just from the smell from the can. Wow, you got citrus, dank and onion and sweetness, this is a deep nose here. Dankness comes through on the flavor along with citrus notes and just some mild bitterness. I’d like a bit more sweetness but that’s me. Decent amount of carbonation if not the slightest bit thin.
