Based on a stout series from last fall, this rendition contains no adjuncts, no lactose ~ a straight forward, classic stout with notes of coffee and mild caramel candy.

Squid ink black with a foamy light tan head. Hardly any aroma. Taste is bold roasty malt, cocoa and coffee. Moderate mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Overall, an excellent American stout.

16 oz can, dated 10/05/21

Pours black, with tan colored head. Aroma is very roasty, a touch of smokey char. Similar flavor, some dark cocoa but very dry. Medium to full bodied, smooth mouthfeel

It's a typical dark black coffee brown colored liquid poured from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. The head is irregular, for a stout, overly foamy and leaving irregular and sparse lacing. It doesn't have a wonderful roasted malt smell, as good porters and stouts do. The taste is pretty good, leaning toward the sweet side of a roasted malt brew. The mouthfeel is light, especially for the style. It has a nice roasted malt finish, actually really good, but everything else is lackluster. it's pretty good, but it's not great.

Pleasantly surprise, Hal Acre delivers again. This one goes down soft with a toned down easy with a tad milky/coffee under-toned stout taste. Silky smooth and good on flavor.

16 ounce can poured into a Duvel tulip glass. Canned 12/2/20.

L---Opaque brown color with ruby edges. Fluffy, light brown head that had decent retention and left nice lacing.

S---Milk chocolate and caramel.

T---Rich chocolate and lesser caramel. Light bitterness.

F---Rich & creamy. Amply carbonated.

O---A nice beer. Bonus points for achieving all that flavor without adjuncts or lactose.

a: silky dark black color that looks quite like motor oil. dark tan head that fades to a thin film quite quickly

s: luxurious roasted malts, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and an intense brown sugar note. molasses, dark caramel. cocoa powder and fudge brownies

t: roasted malts, and dark chocolate. there is a noticeable hit of bitterness from the roast..perhaps some hops. slight milk chocolate and some sticky toffee.

m: fuller side of medium with moderate carbonation. slightly sticky

o: old school style stout with a great aroma. nice roast, nice malts, and an assertive bitterness. it's good not great, but more than 1 of these wouldn't be a problem to drink

16 oz can dated 2020-10-08 into a pint glass. Pours an opaque obsidian color with a dense latte-like tan head with some topography to it. Toasted malts, cocoa, caramel, and coffee on the nose, with perhaps a very faint hint of coconut. Taste mostly follows, but a strong flavor of unsweetened baking chocolate takes center stage with the coffee playing a supporting role. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and smooth. A stout that knows what a stout should be and does it well. An excellent choice for a snowy December night.

Picked up a 16 oz can from Kings Beer & Wine 3-12-20 for $3.19. Canned 1-29-20; consumed 6-1-20.

Beer poured black with a beautiful tan head with the original pour that has some great hang time.

Nose is medium roasted malts and not much more.

Taste is straight ahead old school stout with the malt base having a medium to heavy roasted malts and the balancing hops nail it very well offsetting the malt sweetness.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty smooth.

Overall it is refreshing to have a straight up non adjunct stout, well done!
