A seasonal stepping stone from Crocus DIPA and spring’s ability to push decay into new life, Burl brings Fall and everyone’s interest in gathering warmth. A combination of two transformative yeast strains and an art piece double dry hop featuring Simcoe, Mosaic Cryo, Citra, and 2019 Nelson places Burl into the soft core ~ big and pungent with Half Acre's bitterness and drinkability.

Burl pours a hazyish gold color, with a large frothy, lacing, and long-lasting head. The aroma has notes of melon. The flavor is clean, with melon notes, and a citrus kick. Good body and feel. Overall, a very tasty, ipa, with great sweet melon flavors.

16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Canned 8/?/21, had 10/19/21.
Pours a yellow orange, cloudy, with a one and a half inch creamy foam head and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of orange, mango, malt, light grapefruit. Smells earthy and a little dank. Flavors of orange, malt, a good amount of resiny hop bitterness, a little grapefruit. Tastes spicy, earthy and slightly dank. Smooth, a very good lighter body, well carbonated.
Good, certainly enjoyable, solid all the way around. Like the sharp bitterness that offsets the citrus. Would buy it again.

Canned 9/21/22
Appearance: Pours a moderately hazy (40% clarity) medium to light orange color with a strong, lacy white head. SRM of 9. (3.75)
Aroma: Strong and juicy aromas of orange citrus, pineapple, tropical berry and melon flavors underneath and lingers.
Flavor: Strong and juicy flavors of orange and grapefruit citrus, tropical pineapple, some melon and berries. Some pine bitterness follows.
Fee; Medium-bodied, strong carbonation. Finishes juicy with a light bitterness.
Compared to RAR The Reaper 12/2022: Pours lighter, stronger aromas More juiyc and tropical pineapple and berries. Less resinous nectarine and kiwi. Juicier and more flavors. Also more of a dynamic pine finish. Winner: Half Acre
Overall: A Fantastic IPA here. Juicy and balances the pine beautifully. Not quite a full-on NEIPA, but darn close. More new age with the bitter pine balance from Half Acre. One of the best I've had that I can remember. (Rating: 4.24)

Gorgeous, semi-hazy body; deep golden yellow appearance with a thick, long-lasting white head. Tropical fruit nose; a bit faint. Outstanding taste; light and very pleasing bread crust flavor with a nice hop flavor; a bit of white grape and wine must; very subtle esters playing around the taste buds. Medium-heavy body; rather soft on the palate; semi-juicy with a nice low-key dryness offset.
I much prefer hazy India pale ales along this line of taste. It seems more balanced and not in-your-face with gut wrenching hop bitterness. Half Acre brings some nice, subtle complexity and balance to this beer.

A: The beer is hazy and a bit pale yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of gooseberries are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of lime citrus and stone fruit along with notes of gooseberries. The hops also contribute a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and somewhat juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer tastes like a hybrid between an Imperial IPA and a New England-style IPA.

Can dated 9/26/21 into pint glass. Pours a murky deep gold with a persistent off-white head. Great lacing! Initial impression is citrus rind, mango, peppery spices, and a slight dank earthiness. Mouthfeel is thick and juicy. Finish is slightly sweet, fading to a resinous bitterness. Overall, a delicious DDH DIPA!
