A new addition to our year round lineup and a friendly business partner at 5.5% abv. We've been developing versions of this beer for a while. You can find an intersection somewhere between "On The Lawn ~ Smoking Gull ~ Tasty Waves ~ Smoking Daisy." Its final compounds POP with Citra, Mosaic, Idaho 7 and Centennial, but it’s still tangled up in the horns of original pale ale – a sweet and creamy core. This bond, all held high by yeast’s haze darling, London 3. Another arch in the Half Acre ROYGBIV system.

16 fl oz. can, canned 06/01/23. Quien? King Louie on the bottom..
A: Juicy orange, finger of frothy white head.
S: Citrus, orange
T: It's hazy, but pretty acidic for my liking, especially if we're gonna be calling this a pale ale. Does have some malty breadiness, but the acidity is overpowering.
F: Crisp carb, medium fullness. I don't say this often, but I definitely think it needs a higher abv than the lowly 5.5%.
Overall, average at best.

Pours a pale orange yellow; quite opaque. Scent is pleasant, not overly strong, but bright fresh citrus. I get lemon and orange slices. Upon the tongue, this has a less heavy feel than expected. Very drinkable, but a touch one note. Grapefruit and lemon at the forefront. It goes quite acidic in the finish. Overall, easy drinker, but nothing mind blowing

I hate that I’m giving this beer a 5, I would also hate myself if I didn’t give it a 5. This is my ideal beer, I’ve been drinking it since they brought it to their year round line up. They took characteristics from Smoking Gull for sure to make this recipe, it has a well balanced hop vs malt bitterness but also captures a grassy freshness I usually only find in NZ hopped beers.
peaceful edit; was sampling 'OJ Run,' a CLASSIC in hazy brews, (and also a 96 scoring beer) and just wish I could up my review even more for this beer. It is easily a 90 when comparing against other world class hazies, and higher considering they can produce this incredible quality ale on a year round basis. Cheers

On tap at Half Acre Brewing – Balmoral Taproom in Chicago, IL.
This one pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like lemon zest, grapefruit, lemongrass, pine, and crackery malt.
This has a light supportive malt character, just enough to keep it from being thin, with a pleasantly dry hop character on the back end – peppery, herbal, and piney, with lemon, grapefruit, and orange juiciness – not a ton – it’s certainly not juicy. But it is very tasty.
This is light bodied, clean, and quite crisp, with a very good drinkability.
This would be a good hot weather, beach, all day drinking sort of beer, which is probably the point.

Half Acre Beer Co. "Tome"
16 fl. oz. can coded "03/31/22B 2784 15:12" and sampled on 07/20/22
$3.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: What I have before me is cloudy and golden with an orange sheen beneath a short head of foam. It's dropped to basically nothing. The can felt weird when I picked it up, kind of squishy, and I thought there might be something wrong but I didn't find any damage (no leaks) and it appears to be a full pint. I could tell when I poured it though that it had a low carbonation level. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that or not. The aroma is clearly Citra and Mosaic hops with notes of orange, berries, mango, and a little bit of pine. I'm disappointed with the first sip because it actually is flat, which kills the mouthfeel. I'm going to guess that this is about 1.8 volumes of CO2 whereas 2.5 is more common. The taste is as you'd expect with notes of orange, berries, some floral character, mango, passionfruit, nectarine, grapefruit, and grass/pine/herbs/spice/earthiness. A moderate to median bitterness balances it and it finishes with some fading marmalade as the spicy, earthy, and herbal notes rise. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and... well, at least in this case, flat with just a light caress on the tongue. There's no head left, and there's very little in the way of lacing beyond some small spots her and there. Having run a bottling line for 8 years I'm going to guess that something happened and this should have been pulled off the line but got missed. I'm going to try to score it as best I can knowing what I know and guessing at how it should be but I'll have to grab another can and do an update.

Tome pours a hazy cloudy yellowish color, with a small, massively lacing head. Aroma is weak, dry tropical fruit. Flavor is mild, sweet, dry floral hop notes. Good body and feel. Overall, a fantastic hazy pale ale. Sweeter, fruity, approachable.

Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (15% clarity) medium orange color with a mild white head. SRM of 7-8. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of lemon citrus, citrus flower, some hints of pineapple and mango underneath. (4.25)
Flavor: Moderate flavors of lemon citrus, citrus flower, some pineapple and pine before a crisp and clean finish. (4.00)
Feel: Lighter-bodied. Strong carbonation. A full mouthfeel and a cirsp and clean finish from the yeast and floral pine finish. (4.25)
Compared to Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue 6/1/22: Pours a darker, clearer color, milder head. Similar aromas. More cirsp pine. Less citrus flower and mint. Similar lemon notes, but lighter and cleaner. Surprisingly similar.
Overall: A well-crafted hazy pale ale. This one has some nice and clean lemon citrus, pineapple, and pine notes. Drinks citrusy, juicy, yet piney and clean. Extremely drinkable for 5.5% and crushable in the summertime. A greaxt hazy pale ale all around in terms of aroma, flavor, and drinkable mouthfeel. Probably an underrated pale ale. It's not going to wow you in 2022, but for beer standards this passes all the marks. (Rating: 4.14)

Pours a "hazy" yellow, white head fades away quickly but leaves some spotty lacing.
Nose gets some melon and tropical fruit, taste buds get all that but were left wishing for a little bitterness. Oh well. Probably a one'n done.

While it's great looking, it's pale ale, and pale for an APA, not an IPA at all.
a) Orange-apricot body, haze with massive lace.
s) More melon and some perfume than anything else.
t) More bitter, some pine added to melon soup, but thinnish.
f) Thinnish again.
o) meant to be a lawn beer, it's too peeled back for my taste. Not a session either at 5.5% abv.

16oz can
Served in a stemless wine glass
This beer pours a light orange hue and is turbid. It is topped with a couple inches of fluffy eggshell head that leaves nice lacing.
I smell citrus with orange standing out. I also get light melon along with tropical fruit.
Light tropical and citrus flavors
Medium bodied with a pillowy mouthfeel
Decent beer
