Collaboration with Burial. A lager base brewed with North Carolina malt and Wisconsin honey, Heavy in the Air was aged 12 months in fresh Chardonnay barrels before being refermented on honey dew, cantaloupe, and canary melons from Seedling Orchard in Michigan. Prevalent melon, with supreme honey body alongside notes of vanilla and oak, the richness is balanced by a pointed acid level and bright finish

Crystal clear gold body with visible carbonation and small off-white collar. Smell has a wonderful bouquet of tropical fruit: huge melon, huge kiwi, huge cantaloupe, pineapple, star fruit and a hint of passion fruit, all with a slightly acidic tone. So pure and fragrant. Taste is more focused on the adjunct melon and cantaloupe, still getting decent kiwi and star fruit too underneath, touches of wine barley in the finish. Feel is bright, tart, acidic but artfully so, yet very thin, with some vinous texture and dryness emerging. Would be perfect on a hot summer day

Pours golden and effervescent with a rush of head that dies off with some low to moderate lacing.
White wine, floral and farmstand nose, taste is refreshing with fresh juicy melon notes and dry white wine and slightly grassy, with a nice acidic bite on the back end. Complex but a crowd pleaser.

Bright sparkling golden tone, initial burst of foam that quickly fades away. Aroma is pleasant, with oak, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, and a bracing acidity. Taste is similarly bracing, white wine vinegar, cantaloupe, oak traces in the aftertaste. Acidity is off the charts, it’s moderately acetic, which hurts the drinkability a bit for me. Puckering sourness, fruity white wine and melon flavors work well together. Lean bodied, light malt backbone. Ultimately, it comes down to personal tolerance for acetic acid, which is less and less for me these days.
