Collaboration with The Veil Brewing Company. The nose hits with rich molasses and milk chocolate, contrasted by the characteristic brightness of apple brandy, resembling the balance of a green apple smothered in a caramel and chocolate swirl. Soak in Shadow doesn’t conclude with an overindulgence of the sweets. The back half is a finish of tobacco and leather that folds into something more complex and contemplative. Soak in Shadow rounds out at a sizable 13.1% ABV. Contains milk sugar and gelatin - is not vegan or vegetarian.

16oz can, dated 03.04.2021, poured into a Half Acre "occult" snifter glass.
The beer pours a nice jet black color, thick, viscous, very opaque with a khaki head that rises barely a finger tall with minimal retention and no lacing. The aroma is nice, lots of caramel apple, dark chocolate, oak, roasted grain, charred wood, light vanilla and pleasant stone fruits. The flavors are nice, bittersweet chocolate, rich and decadent with a nice toastiness, charred oak, warm spirit, caramel apple, vanilla, and stone fruits. The mouthfeel is very good, coating, smooth with a heavy body, warm and full at the finish.
Verdict: A nice BA stout from Half Acre and The Veil. The balance is exceptional and the apple brandy barrel is expressed very well. A unique barrel treatment that makes for a unique and complex stout.

Canned 3/4/21; drank 3/28/21 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
An even pour yielded a nice tan head; decent lace.
Apple Brandy, marshmallow, oak & dark chocolate notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Apple Brandy & marshmallow flavors up front; oak, mild dark chocolate & faint fresh earth notes on the finish.
Balanced, so that the Brandy doesn't overpower this; an interesting, worthy amalgam. I'd have another!
