Poured from a growler into a Shneidder Weisse wheat glass. There isn't much more too look for in the appearance. It's straw yellow, displays effervescent bubbles, has a tight whieat head and great lacing. Perfect!
The aroma is slightly hoppy, but could use a bit more. There is good use of pilsner malt in the aroma, which leads to a crisp, grainy malt scent. Hops add a slight floral edge. It's as clean as you would expect for a lager.
This beer is light and refreshing, with low bitterness for the style. The pilsner malt flavor is crisp and has a slight crackery flavor in the finish. The finish lingers a bit more than I'd like for the style, but is otherwise a nice, clean tasting pilsner.
The mouthfeel is authentic to the style, with a light and crisp finish and a soft malt body in the middle. Carbonation is at an acceptable level, even from a shipped growler. The drinkability is excellent. This was a good beer for a Saturday afternoon, and I kind of wish the next growlers we had contained the same beer.

A - Pours a clear straw-gold with two fingers of bone-white head and plenty of fine carbonation.
S - Doughy malt with a light, floral and grassy hop aroma. Simple and clean.
T - Malt is sharp and focused, with a bit of grainy cereal flavor. Hop flavor is spicy, herbal, and grassy. It's not overly bitter, but it does have a refreshing peppery bite. Finishes clean and dry. It's a very straightforward, very well put together pils.
M - Light, though there's a bit of chewy malt, and effervescent.
D - This is an awesome session beer. Nice flavor, and very easy to drink. Summer seasonal, please?

Poured from a 64oz growler into a 20oz imperial pint.
A: Pours a crystal clear, straw gold color with a tight, two-finger dallop of rocky, bright white foam perched on top. Retention is excellent with some lacey drapes left behind. Carbonation is somewhere in the middle between lazy and active.
S: Aromas of toasty malt, a bit of lemon, and some herbal hops. Maybe a hint of vanilla and wildflowers as well.
T: Whoa! Big blast of spicy white pepper that grabs on right away and never lets go. Crackery malt, light citrus, dried wildflowers, and herbal hops. Grassy.
M: Not your typical Pils. Bracingly dry, spicy, and peppery. I tried but could barely detect any citrus twang. I don't mean that to be a bad thing. On the contrary. This one felt so different for a Pilsener. Very interesting.
D: Between this and Gossamer, I don't know which would be the ultimate summer '10 beer. Well, I guess Gossamer with its' lower abv and 16oz tallboy packaging gets the nod, but this beer was just so different. A spicy and peppery Pils. I guess if I was heading to a BBQ at Joe and Dave's, I'd bring both...but I think this would get the edge with the grilled meats!
