Comforting hazy IPA brewed with experimental hop HBC 630 for a soft mouthfeel and balanced bitterness with a touch of sweet caramel malt, ripe berry, pineapple and spruce.

16oz can into a shaker pint glass.
L: Pours med-hazed apricot gold w a thin off white head that is a thick skin, low carbo, sticky webbed lacing w perforated sheeting & light banding.
S: Sweet malts, lightly herbal, citrus zest, grapefruit, orange, light peach, light lemon zest specifically.
T: Orange whip, citrus zest, conifer resin, sweet malts, a hint of grains. Airy, uncomplicated and well balanced.
F: Smooth med-bodied w a med-length finish, lightly creamy & puffy moderately drying finish w a subtle linger.
O: A fairly simple tasting American IPA with great flavors, a comforting feel and very EZ drinkability. I didn't get the freshest 4pk of cans but I'd try it again as the overall appeal of this beer is very good.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single from a local bar/bottle shop for $4.25. Canned on 8/10/22, so this beer is being consumed at just past four months old.

Look: Pours a moderately hazy gold/orangey color. Initially, there was a rocky off-white head that gradually reduced to a very thin layer.

Smell: Nice mix of citrus and pine notes including some orange and grapefruit zest. There's also some stone fruit/tropical notes....I get a bit of peach. Subtle note of dried pineapple and blueberry. Peppery notes also. Green bell pepper notes on the finish after swirling the glass.

Taste: Really easy to drink and pretty tasty. Up front, it has nice citrus and pine flavor - nice orange and grapefruit rind taste. Finishes somewhat bitter and quite dry. This beer is not really juicy, but there's a nice, slight acidity on the finish. Over time, a light breadiness and slightly caramel maltiness comes through.

Feel: Lighter side of medium body. It has an effervescent carbonation that works for this beer.

Overall: This is pretty enjoyable. It's not spectacular, but it's really solid and this is on the lighter side of body and ABV so you could session it if you wanted to. As with most things that Half Acre makes, it's made well.

16 oz can into a pint glass. Hazy yellowish-orange color with a foamy off-white head that left lots of sticky lace down the side. Strong orange and grapefruit citrus on the nose. Bitter grapefruit citrus taste with some puckering astringency that borders on unpleasant. Mild piney hop flavor. Medium bodied and very dry.

Canned

Appearance: Pours a mildly hazy (40% clarity) medium orange color with a moderate white head. SRM of 7-8. (3.75)

Aroma: Mild aromas of orange, tangerine, with hints of a resinous stonefruit underneath. (3.75)

Flavor: Moderate flavors of grapefruit citrus ,bitter citrus rind and pine. Hints of tropical pineapple sweetness underneath. Bitter and a clean finish. (3.75)

Feel: Medium-bodied, appropriate carbonation with a dry, clean, bittern finish. (4.00)

Compared to Half Acre IPA Your Way 10/2022: Pours slightly lighter, milder aromas. More nectarine and stonefruit flavors. Less juicy grapefruit, pineapple, and tropical flavors. Dryer, cleaner, and more bitter.

Overall: A good IPA here. Nice tangerine and stonefruit flavors. Appropriate resin and pine. Drinks dry and clean. Pretty good for what it is. Nothing spectacular. Old-school west-coast (Rating: 3.83)

Initially, this looks inviting. At room temperature a pint can is thoroughly emptied into a clear glass liter mug without any extraneous foam. In fact, the head is modest, but enduring. 'Tis a golden amber liquid beneath the off-white topping, which now rests in the vessel. The aroma is malts with a muted hop inclusion. To the nose, the malt is not too sweet and the hopping is not too bitter. To taste, this is out of balance, leaning more toward a dryly hop emphasis than a malty inclusion. The mild glass lacing is misleading, for there's no decent body here. The first impressions, sight and smell just don't follow through to the taste and mouthfeel, which makes this disappointing. If a vaguely hoppy brew. nearly devoid of a barley malt counterbalance appeals, here's one for you.

Very much answers the question: “what Daisy Cutter would be like if you reimagined it as an IPA.” Very solid beer. Light in color. Medium thickness. Hops are present, but somewhat light. It gives the slight malt a chance to shine.
