64oz growler, freshly filled at HA Balmoral, poured into a 16oz tumbler glass.
The beer pours a very hazy and turbid orange color, amber and honey hues with a foamy off-white head that rises nicely with excellent retention and lacing. The aroma is great, tons of Nelson hop, fruity, tropical with excellent underlying pine, bitter grapefruit peel, rye, pale dough, mineral water, sweet yeast and wildflower. The flavors are great, bursting with tropical fruits, orange citrus, pineapple, mango, peach, wildflower, sweet yeast, pale dough, mineral water and excellent bitter pine, resinous and sticky, grapefruit peel, grassy raw hop, dank weed lingers nicely. The mouthfeel is good, heavier medium body, coating, thick, chewy and with a creamy yet dry finish.
Verdict: A nice hazy IIPA from Half Acre. Really well balanced and offers plenty of brightness and juiciness with an excellent bitter backbone. Delightful.
