This one pours a fairly dark brown color, with a very small head, and not much lacing.
This smells really oaky, with leather, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, tobacco, and vanilla.
This has such a dense and pleasant barrel character to it. It’s unbelievably oaky, with a dense but clean spiced character to it, some definite char, and a touch of light vanilla. There’s a touch of chocolate, but it’s classic barleywine build otherwise – there’s salted caramel, molasses, burnt brown sugar, tobacco, breadiness, and leather.
This is medium bodied, not super thick, but there’s definitely some heft to this one. It’s not really boozy at all.
This is a certified stunner – Half Acre is a major player in the barrel aged beer world.

poured from a 12oz can into a perennial snifter. pours like slightly darker coca cola with less than a finger of dark khaki colored foam head that’s quick to fade away. sharp bourbon with oak, dark fruits and toffee on the nose. taste is toffee, biurbon, oak, light vanilla and some damp cardboard. heavy bourbon in the finish. full mouthfeel. very bourbon-forward with lots of malt expression. thoroughly enjoyed.

Canned 11/21/23; drank 12/7/23 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dark brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; no lacing remained.
Molasses, marshmallow, leather & fig notes in the nose; booze heat emerged as this warmed.
Creamy, thick mouthfeel; it got a bit sticky over the course of the session.
Molasses, wood & mild raspberry flavors; rich cream & booze heat notes on the finish.
It's not super bold; at first it seems a bit mild. Once it warms up it reveals depth & more interesting characteristics. Not my favorite profile (too much molasses) but it's unique & worth trying.
