12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 12/21/23, had 2/16/24.

Pours near black and opaque, with a brief head and a little light, foamy lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, vanilla, peach brandy, cocoa, some bourbon and oak, light chocolate, light char. The bourbon barrels take the lead in the flavor, followed by roasted malt, peach brandy, vanilla, cocoa, some chocolate- more as it warms, some oak. There’s a light alcohol warming. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good full body, appropriately carbonated.

The peach brandy barrels and the vanilla stand out and there’s a solid bourbon barrel presence. The combination works great with the stout base, it’s really enjoyable. This is definitely at its best when fully warmed.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like spiced peaches, dark chocolate, oak, caramel, bourbon, and just a hint of vanilla, especially as it warms.

This is an extremely unique barrel aged stout – something that doesn’t happen very often anymore with so many breweries releasing barrel aged stouts now. It’s pretty peachy, but since it’s peach brandy, it gives off a dried fruit, almost spiced peaches vibe, like a peach cobbler instead of peach jam. There’s a very subtle bit of vanilla, but that does increase as it warms. The judicious and subtle use of vanilla is appreciated here – adding a little twist without overpowering the interesting notes the barrels give this beer.

This is medium bodied, and not very boozy, with a nice creamy drinkability.

Half Acre has an excellent barrel program, and this is easily their most unique offering that I’ve tried.

Canned 12/21/23; drank 1/12/24 @ the Yarchives.

Midnight black apperance.

An even pour yielded a small, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; no lacing remained.

Peach, rich chocolate & bourbon heat notes in the nose.

Creamy, thick mouthfeel. Peach, milk chocolate & bourbon heat on the palate.

An odd amalgam, initially, but as it warms it starts to make sense. Not the greatest beer but it's worth a quaff.
