Brewed in collaboration with Sierra Nevada.

Together with Sierra Nevada, we hand-selected freshly harvested hops in Yakima Valley specifically for this scaled up West Coast Double IPA version of Daisy Cutter. We’re proud to share the label with Sierra Nevada as we celebrate 15 years of brewing Daisy Cutter.

16oz can, dated 05.23.2024, poured into a 16oz tumbler glass. Enjoyed on 07.04.2024, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a bright copper and orange color, amber hues, slight chill haze, fluffy tall white head with great retention and lacing. The aroma is very bitter and earthy, green hop, pine needles, grapefruit peel, grass clippings, somewhat dank, lightly floral with soft pale grain. The flavors are good, bitter pine, green hop leaf, tangy citrus juice, wildflower, dough, and mineral water. The mouthfeel is good, coating, full medium body, lively but smooth with a crisp and dry finish.

Verdict: A nice twist on Daisy Cutter. Definitely reads like a fusion of Daisy Cutter and Torpedo.

Pours an unfiltered orange color with a frothy oatmeal colored head that provides splotchy lacing. Beautiful WCDIPA that literally glows in the glass.

Significant citrus aromas on the nose, with ripe oranges and pithy grapefruit most prominent, plus a bit of resiny pine and caramalt.

The orange is more marmalade on the taste, with the pithy grapefruit and resiny pine more pronounced and nicely bitter, with the caramalt providing balance to this delicious WCDIPA.

The mouthfeel is full and dry, fitting the style nicely. Two breweries that I love collaborated and came up with an excellent beer, IMHO.

From a 16oz can:

Appearance: Clear gold, big head.

Smell: Piney, some citrus.

Taste: Solid pine and citrus entry, then continues with more citrus, moderate bitterness. Somewhat light feel for a DIPA. Extremely drinkable.

Overall: Two of the best pale ale makers combine for a double IPA that drinks like a pale ale. SNPA and standard Daisy Cutter are two classics, this DIPA reminds me of both. Balanced flavor and great drinkability.

Piney and coating, with notes of bitter pith countering the pale malt sweetness nicely. Oily.

I don't think it's a better beer than Daisy Cutter, and I'd prefer to see it in a 6x12 fl oz format instead of the cashgrab 4x16 fl oz format, but it's a worthwhile beer from the two top tier breweries involved.

Disguises its ABV pretty well.

Daisy Cutter + Sierra Nevada = two well known pale ales, and with their combined powers came up with this Grand Cru of sorts. What do I think about finishing a 4-pack of 16 ounce cans? On to the beer:

With the name being Daisy Cutter Select, I thought that I would be drinking a Grand Cru version of Daisy Cutter. What surprised me is how much this tasted more like a Sierra Nevada Grand Cru. Take its pale ale and concentrate it into a stronger brew. That's a darn good beer if you ask me.

Can. White head. Little lace. Clear golden with a little orange hue.

Dank west coast ipa. Weedy, resin, floral, and piney. Sticky. Grapefruit citrus. Bready malts. Strong enough to let you know it’s a double. Ends very bitter, in the best way possible. Even has a touch of pineapple mixed in.

Such a fun collab. This is a top tier west coast double and excellent price point.

16 oz can no date into a nonic pint glass.
L: SRM 10 Pours 95% clear amber color with very lush steady carbonation, a soft creamy pock-marked slightly off-white head that has VG retention down to a thick skin, medium patchy lacing.
S: Fruit salad, light caramel malts, pleasant and mildly complex.
T: Fruit salad, citrus zest, toasted grains, medium tangy, dry fruit bread, a suggestion of melon & melon rind, pine resin appears and lingers long. Tastes are well defined and are balanced: Fruits, caramel malts, resin.
F: Gently brisk then plush & soft medium-bodied feel with an almost creamy and impressively long fairly drying finish.
O: Wow. This beer is like meeting a friend you haven't seen for a long time. It is succulent tasting and has a long, pleasant unfurling drinkability that really is second to none. Perhaps HA will continue production. I wish more DIPAs were of this high quality. It is outstanding in its style.
