Bomber to mug, the appearance was a fairly dark brown color close to black with a sturdy finger’s worth of white foamy head that died off at a mild pace. Light stringy lace. The aroma had some roastiness with a little bit of malted milk chocolate and a little bit of nuts. The flavor copied the aroma pretty nice and bled into the aftertaste and finish as directed. The palate was about medium bodied with a fair sessionable sort of smooth feel along my tongue. Some carbonation was felt but not distracting. ABV felt fine. Overall, pretty nicely done porter that I could have again.

Bottled fall 2014; drank 11/4/14 @ the Yarchives.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Brown/purple hue.

Big tan head; nice lace.

Fresh coffee & fresh earth nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Roasted coffee & fresh earth flavors up front, which clash slightly with the hop bite on the finish. Dial back the hops & this would be delicious; as it is, drinkable but not great.
