This one is a typical pilsner. Light, crisp, refreshing. There’s a subtle hoppy pine taste to it too. There is a sweetness to this that borders on being a touch too sweet. There is a little bit of spice to it also. Nice job by Half Acre

Out from a tap and into a clear pint glass this went. Now, it temporarily resides there, with moderate haziness of a light straw color. The white head is modest and enduring. Mild is the beer aroma, but that's standard for the style. The body is supple, as witnessed by the sticky glass lacing. The rich body carries malty sweetness finished with a noticeable hop bite. If ever there was something as too much body, this would would be an example for those that love this near perfect Pilsner taste, but prefer a lighter medium. Simply put, the crispness of a good Pilsner is missing here.

I love this pilsner, and I can't find it around me anymore, which makes me very sad :(

A good pilsner. Dry-ish hops and muted flavors of pepper, lemon. It has a bit of a papery taste that lingers. Good but unremarkable, nothing too special, but good in a standard way. This is a nice second choice when better pilsners are not available - it'll do, but only manages to be competent, not special or outstanding.

Golden body with white head. Aroma of lemon skin, light grass, a touch of citrus. Tastes of citrus, lemon skin, light grass, light mint, grain sweetness, and some dryness towards the finish. Light bodied with medium carb.

Pours a cloudy gold with a one finger head. Smell is malts and grass with some skunkiness. Taste is same but with some lemon hoppiness I wasnt expecting. Finishes a bit dry with medium fizz but aftertaste is more traditional pilsner. Interesting but don’t think I would buy again.

Picked up a single from the Kings Beer & Wine cooler 5-22-20 for $2.99. Canned 4-1-20, consumed 8-6-20.

Beer poured golden with a beautiful white head that has some really good hang time.

Nose is a touch of lemon, crackers, and bread.

Taste is bread forward with some crackers and finishes with a touch of herbal lemony hop; 5/10 on my bitterness scale.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and fairly refreshing.

Overall a nice refreshing German pils on a 107 degree afternoon!

16 ounce can poured into a snulip glass.

L---Hazy, very light & bright golden color. Two fingers of fluffy white lace with very good retention and very good lacing.

S---Lemon and grain are the dominant aromas.

T---Lemony. Strong malt backbone of grain, bread and cracker.

F---Fairly light, maybe medium/light body. Amply carbonated.

O---An excellent beer for a hot day. Fairly light and quenching, but still full of flavor.

Poured from can into glass. Looks a slightly hazy golden yellow. Really nice noble hop aroma. Flavor full of crackery malt, firm hop bitterness and earthy/piney hops. Medium body. Super refreshing and enjoyable. True to style and full of flavor.

Nearly clear yellow color with a white head that bubbles up nicely, the nose is filled with noble hop aromas that are grassy and a little lemony, and there’s a bready malt component, too.

The noble hop flavors are prominent, and the bready malt flavor knows its place. The mouthfeel is crisp in this well executed German pilsner.

One of the few American-brewed pilsners that tastes like the European, real-deal.

Very good.

Can dated 3-19-19. Pilsner glass.

A: pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with two fingers of rocky bright white head and streams of tiny bubble carbonation. Some spotty lacing. I don’t like haze in a Pilsner. Call me old-fashioned.

S: some lager yeast and floral hop aromas if you look for them. Even after 10 minutes out of the fridge the smell is still somewhat muted.

T: bang! Makes up for it there. Sweet, bready, slightly sulfury Pilsner malt leafs the charge, with strong but restrained noble hops popping up mid palate and lending a mellow bitterness at the end. This is easy drinking Pilsner beer.

M: moderately chewy, lighter end of mid weight, lager crispness, higher carbonation but well within the style.

O: an easy drinking yellow fizzy beer with a whole lot more going on than your standard AAL, and appropriate to the style levels of hoppiness. If I lived in Chicago, I would drink this a lot. But I can find better local and imported to scratch this itch for the money.

Appearance: Pours a pale, lemony color with a strong, crispy head.
Aroma: Strong aromas. Lots of lemon and grass. Some sweet tropical orange, pineapple, and peach aromas too.
Flavor: Very grassy, but some slight deep, dank, sweetness too. Lemon and orange citrus. Bitterness is attenuated. Not too much pepper. Definitely a sulfur smell too. Almost a rusty flavor. Pale cracker malts.
Feel: Crisp and clean. Medium bodied, undercarbonated. Malt focused and leans sweet on the palate. No bitter astringency.

Overall: Not really a fan of this one. I definitely like the citrus hop twist. Must be some American hops in here too. But It is undercarbonated and lacks yeast or hop bitterness so it sort of has the flat, juicy sweetness to it. Lemon and citrus flavor are too forward and it lacks any zest or bite. Strong flavors though for a pilsner.

1/17/19 (Chicago): $11.01 16 oz four pack canned 12/21/18 purchased at Half Acre Brewery on 1/9/19. Multiple pours into flute glass, light clear blonde pour, mild carbonation, fluffy white puffy head leaves generous lacing. Beautiful malt, bread and spicy pepper aroma, very nice blend. Rich bread malt peppery taste. Carbonation holds well, dry mouth feel, very crisp and clean finish. Overall excellent Pilsner.
