On-tap at Half Acre and again at DryHop. Both times in taster glasses.
A - White foam settles to a wispy, thin cap, thicker collar, and a bit of stray lacing. Transparent pale golden blonde body.
S - Quite grassy; I think this was one of the less exciting and distinct hop varietals (just checked and it was Crystal). There's a hint of dankness and citrus peel, but this is mostly earthy and floral. Pils malt is biscuity, but not overly buttery like some of the other Replicales.
T - The taste has more herbal flavor and pronounced hop bitterness. Low sweetness, with hints of grass and grapefruit. Seems more bitter than other Replicales, even though they were supposed to all have the same IBU target.
M - Dry, crisp, medium body, with lower moderate carbonation. Some lingering oils and resins, and unsurprisingly no obvious alcohol.
D - Middle of the pack for the Replicale series. Well-executed, considering the relatively unexciting hop varietal, but as a result it's more of a pale ale than an IPA in character. Could easily drink a pint, but would much rather drink a Daisy Cutter.
