On tap at tasting room:
A mildly hazy dark golden body with a bit of head on this pour. Initially, the head laced the glass, and the medium ring threw a little bit more in the way down.
Lime and crackers malt with a hint of something adjacent to skunk - at least at first. After I got the lime more distinctly, I realized the “skunk” was the weirdness of the interplay of it and the lightly earthy-to-vegetal hops.
Sipping the beer helped bring the nose together. Light, middle of the plate pale malt and classic hops that portrays more like an APA with the balance. The lime cuts though - and I am not 100% sure where the salt comes in; there is a mineral edge to the finish of the beer, so maybe that’s where it sits.
Again, this seems to act like an APA to my palate, and that doesn’t bother me. But it is a bit heavy and bitter for what I think of for a Mexican lager.
