1st review of this beer on BA.
Pours a dark golden yellow leaning into a light amber color. 1/3" white head. The aroma was powerful in terms of hops and yeast. I tend to prefer almost a skunky Euro lager yeast smell, and this hit that preferred note. A mix of noble and Centennial hops gave this a stronger American hop flair alongside the yeast. Enjoyable to say the least, excellent is more on point.
Taste captures the same as the aroma pushing a very yeasty and hoppy interaction the entire time. Damn this is good. I think I've had multiple beers from 13 stripes, they are good stuff. Centennial doesn't dominate the hop scene, those Grungeist kick in tandem with the yeast giving an earthy sharpness. Centennial does give a familiar pine, grapefruit rind and tree aspect to the beer without taking over. The beer continues to retain its firm lager designation despite mixing it up hop wise and bringing a big floral presence. Definitely one of my preferred lagers out there, too bad its so below the radar.
