Inspired by the modern lager served on the Theresienwiese every September, this pale beer is crisp, clean, and designed to be enjoyed by the liter. Expect a bready, malt forward experience with a floral, gently spicy noble-hop bitterness. Prost!

Pours a pissy yellow, quickly receding white head, some spotty lacing. Snot locker says grassy hops, hay, flavor follows. Thin body, not much carbonation, probably a one'n done.....

Canned 7/26/22; drank 8/3/22 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big, bright white head; strong lace.
Cereal grain, mild acorn & faint caramel notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Acorn & mild caramel flavors up front; dry cereal grain & a hint of cream on the finish. A damn fine festbier.

Clear golden body with two fingers of white foam with trace amounts of lacing. Malt and yeast carry both the smell and taste beautifully, interacting in cooperative ways. Smells like brioche buns with more yeast and dough, with grassy and hay accents. Taste amps up the bread, dough, little toasted toast, biscuit and yeast but still bonds so well with the sweeter malt, kisses of grass, flowers, and earth. Feel is pale and airy for style, yet so smooth, crisp, and quenching. Reminds me of founders a bit. Great festbier! The wife liked it

2023: Clean and nuanced, great aroma. Excellent release, looking forward to this one each year.
2022: No DMS at all this year, smells and tastes great.
2021:
Pale gold with some unfiltered haze, thin layer of foam that fades rapidly, no lace, just some scant bubbles around the edges. Second and subsequent cans yield a finger of foam with a short collar and thin veil of skim.
Aroma has some light DMS at first, but it blows off quickly. Faint malt sweetness, bready and doughy. Supple and smooth feel, seemingly with lower carbonation. Pleasant doughy malt flavors, balanced with some mild earthy hop character. Clean finish, lasting aftertaste. Overall it’s pretty good, though it could use a little more crispness.

Pours a slightly cloudy, but still mostly see-through golden color. Thick four finger white head forms on the beer, lingers momentarily, then steadily dissolves leaving just a thin later of spotty white foam on the top of the beer.
Aroma has notes of sweet bready malts, a noticeable DMS character, and spicy hop notes.
Taste is really nice - rich bready malts, a touch doughy with light notes of DMS. Spicy, herbal, earthy hops come through towards the back end leaving a very subtle bitterness on the finish. There is a subtle malty sweetness to the beer.
Feel is light, crisp, bright and easy drinking. Bright carbonation.
Overall a lovely festbier from Roaring Table. Remarkably well done beer - this will be a yearly purchase if they can maintain consistency for this beer.

2021 release (now labeled Fest Bier). Canned on 08-09-2021. Purchased at the brewery on 08-11-21 -- can't beat that too much for freshness! Poured into my tall Becher.
L -- Slightly hazy, light golden to near straw yellow. Tall, sudsy white head that settles slowly to a thin cap.*
S -- DMS and herbal noble hops with light, bready malts fighting for recognition.
T -- Doughy, bready malts up front with herbal, lightly bitter noble hops balancing the flavor. Finish is more sweetish doughy malts with a good herbal bitterness in the aftertaste.
M -- Mouthfeel is crisp to soft with a light-medium body.
O -- Other than the light chill haze* and weak head, this beer is an outstanding American take on the style. I wish I was closer to the brewery to try this vom Faß, but maybe that's a blessing in disguise! This beer would flow smooth down the neck. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more cans.
*Updated in 2023 -- no haze and a deeper gold color. Scores updated.

Sampled in a taster glass from draft at Roaring Table Brewing Company on October 25, 2019. Floor malted Bohemian Pilsner and a touch of light Munich malts offer flavors of fresh baguette and honey. Hallertau Mittelfruh lends a hint of floral perfume and spice. The Bayern lager yeast weaves everything together, creating a beer meant for celebrating by the liter.
