Thick, oily almost black pour, small brown head fades quickly, no lacing. This smells awesome, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa, maybe some molasses, and as awesome as it smells it goes downhill quick. Taste buds get every bit of the above, and it comes out as sickly sweet candy bar. Great texture, smooth, abv well hidden. I'll choke it down.

Canned on 06/30/2022
a: pitch black. one finger khaki colored head.
s: an amalgamation of cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate.
t: following on from the aroma, a nice blend of flavors once warmed to about room temperature. The cinnamon comes first soon followed by baker's chocolate with accents of vanilla.
m: medium carbonation. full mouthfeel.
o: I'll preface this by saying I'm not a pastry stout connoisseur. I do not enjoy overly sweet stouts. I know there are plenty of fans of the style but I just avoid them for the most part. I've enjoyed RT's lagers and IPAs so wanted to see their take here. This to me seems like a restrained pastry stout. Well, as 'restrained' as a pastry stout can be I suppose. Yes, it's a touch on the sweet side but I think they did a good job with this one. A nice balance of flavors, with nothing screaming for attention or seeming cloyingly artificial. Might it be too restrained for some? Yes, perhaps. But for me it's nicely done.

16 oz tallboy can poured into Durobar Charente.
canned on date of 6/30/22.
Appearance: obsidian black bodied stout. Thin cap of head that drops to the ring around the outside perimeter of the glass.
Smell: deep, dark, smooth, and rich chocolate. Lightly roasty stout.
Taste: upon my first sip the immediate thought that comes to mind is mexican hot chocolate that turned into a stout. dark chocolate. Light vanilla and cinnamon. Flavors are very balanced and developed. This finishes with such a smooth and rich chocolate flavor that lingers on for a long time.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied stout with low and adequate carbonation levels. This is pretty smooth. Light warming sensation, but no perceived booze from this one.
Overall: This is my first roaring table stout. It's a well adjuncted stout. It's not pastry sweet, but it is definitely a dessert like stout. Bring the best of old school and new school to the adjuncted stout world. This is well done stout here. Yet another example of roaring table really coming into their own as an awesome brewery.

Canned 6/30/22; drank 7/12/22 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
A violent pour yielded a huge, noisy dark tan head; strong, frothy lace.
Rich chocolate & mild cinnamon notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Chocolate syrup & mild vanilla flavors up front; mildly sharp cinnamon bite on the finish.
While this kind of stout isn't my bag these days (especially with vanilla), I must say this was well done & enjoyable. It's not a mind-blower but it's above average, for sure.
