2025: An anniversary blend of three batches for our ginormous stout. One spent 35 months in Heaven Hill Bernheim Wheat Whiskey casks, another 32 months in Four Roses, and the third just 7 months in Willett barrels. The result is a muscular, rich, and flavorful sipper packed with notes of fudge, toffee, bourbon, spice box, vanilla, and oak

Thick oily looking dark brown pour, small tan head faded quickly. Snot machine like the faint fudge, roasted malt and a hint of booze. Taste buds get the aforementioned along with some dark fruit. This hangs around, great texture. I will buy this in a heartbeat.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a one finger chocolate head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, bourbon, dried plums, bakers chocolate, light caramel and vanilla. Flavor is dark toasted malt, bourbon, woody oak, vanilla, bakers chocolate and dark dried fruit; more fruit in the lingering finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A rich, complex barreled stout. The dominant flavor is bourbon and whiskey, with hints of the wheat whiskey as a clear note. Lots of dried fruit and chocolate. Fine oaky barrel character with more woodiness than vanilla, but pleasant. I'm impressed with this one; it's a great introduction to this brewery. I'll watch for more.

2025 vintage from a 12-oz can, a bit thinner than the original in 500 mL bottles. Major oak barrel with moderate sweetness to contrast. As a whiskey fan, the longest ageing being in a wheater is quite apparent. Notes of honey, almond, and very light cinnamon. Plenty of depth and complexity as it warms.

2025 version - “Our kitchen is open 10/17/25”
The pour is dark, very dark. Not quite true black but closer than most. The light beige head that dissipated much slower than expected but left no lacing.
The taste is layered, caramel and chocolate vie for the front, the proverbial dark fruit shoved those aside and danced with coffee. The swallow brings the heat, not spice but the alcohol is not hidden. It’s very hard not to slam.
The feel is nicely viscous, matches the taste ideally.
OA, I am glad to have listened to the beer guy at Binney’s - this is wonderful.

Black opaque body with brown edges and a cap. Aromas of bittersweet chocolate and coffee with rustic bourbon barrel. Taste is much the same with mild roast on the finish, the chocolate and coffee are lush but not overbearing. Medium bodied, smooth, creamy, and warm, classical. Well balanced all around good bba stout without any gimmicks

750ml bottle poured into Deep Woods stemless glass.
Appearance: Looks black as night and pours thick like motor oil. Strong pour yields minimal head.
Smell: dark chocolate aromas. Rye Whiskey aroma is prominent over bourbon.
Taste: Rye spice and milk chocolate are immediately noted. Big dry oak, leather, and barrel char. More rye in the finish and it even has a rye bread note about it. Drying finish.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied stout; thicker texture yet has some slickness about it. Drinks at or slightly below it's listed abv. Low and adequate carbonation levels.
Overall: Really nice barrel notes. No frills BA stout that lets the barrels do the talking which is a wheelhouse stout for me. The rye barrel does most of the talking and I am happy about that. Roaring table doing another really tasty stout here.

Released 10/1/22; drank 10/2/22 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
An even pour yielded almost no tan heed; almost no lace.
Milk chocolate, banana, oak & bourbon notes in the nose.
Creamy, thick mouthfeel.
Brownie batter, banana, oak & bourbon flavors.
This is a really, really good non-sweetened barrel aged stout. Hope they continue to make beers like this and leave the sugary treats behind.
