This Dark Mild Ale pairs nicely with easygoing sessions and comfy sweaters. It presents malty notes of chocolate, breadcrust, toffee, nuts, and red fruits. Flavorful yet as well mannered as the style suggests, we hope you enjoy it now and again.

16oz can; poured into Abby St. Sixtus branded chalice style glass.
canned on date of 12/22/22.
Appearance: Brown bodied beer with off white colored head that is dense and creamy with great staying power.
Smell: Roasty malts, toasted cereal grains, fruity ale yeast. Walnuts.
Taste: Roasted malt up front with a lightly sweet finish and a touch of earthy hop bitterness to balance the sweetness. There is a hint of cocoa, walnuts, and crusty bread in the middle of the sip when it's noticed. Fruity ale yeast.
Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer with carbonation levels on the lower end of moderate. Creamy texture of this beer is very nice.
Overall: No surprise here! I really enjoy the fact that Roaring Table will brew a beer style like a mild ale which not many breweries are brewing & Roaring Table will absolutely do an outstanding job with it. Cant wait to try this on cask at the brewery, I bet it's even better .

Pours a dark reddish brown color. Excellent clarity when held up to the light. Thick, somewhat velvety tan colored head forms on the beer, lingers a bit, then dissipates. Just a thin layer of residual foam ultimately remains. The aroma on this is lovely - notes of nutty malts, some light cocoa, maybe a touch of pumpernickel bread, with a light roastiness, some slight spiciness and a fleeting whiff of toffee.
The taste is just as lovely - notes of lightly toasted pumpernickel bread, nutty malts, cocoa, some light spiciness on the finish and again a hint of sweetness that is reminiscent of toffee. There is so much depth of flavor and complexity here in a beer that is only 3.5% ABV - a lovely reminder that higher ABV is not directly correlated to more flavor. Feel is light, smooth, and easy drinking. Most importantly for a pub ale - it is repeatable or sessionable - a beer I could and want to drink all day.
Overall this is a homerun - I've found the canned mild ale I've wanted for a while now. THis probably would be perfect 5s across the board if it was on cask and I was drinking it by the pint. As it is canned - its a world class beer from Roaring Table.

Canned 12/22/22; drank 1/11/23 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque brown/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a huge, noisy tan head; strong lace.
Chocolate, oak & faint medium roast coffee bean notes on the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Chocolate & medium roast coffee bean flavors; mild oak notes on the finish.
Extremely flavorful for such a low ABV...I simply MUST try this on cask.

Canned 12-22-22. "Dark Pub Ale," notes refer to it as a Mild. Poured into my Libby Impy.
L -- Clear, deep copper brown with a sudsy, light tan head that settles slowly.
S -- Light roasty malts and an earthiness from malts or the Kent Golding hops. Light cocoa notes back with some hop spiciness.
T -- Light dark cherry character up front followed by roasted malts, light nuttiness, dark bread crusts, and herbal hops. Dark cherry reappears in the finish and herbal hops command the aftertaste. Nuttiness and a slight astringency apparent in the middle.
F -- Mouthfeel is rather spritzy and crisp with a light-medium body.
O -- A very nicely complex beer for its ABV. Leans to the roasted malts rather than a sweeter, caramel note, but there's nothing overly harsh with this one. Highly quaffable.
