Pours an effervescent mahogany/ cola color with a pinky of tan head. Average-ish head retention & lacing

S: Coffee/roastyness, cocoa once warm

T: Coffee, dryness, toastyness, a touch of cocoa up front. Toastyness, dryness. mocha & woody hops as this beer warms up. Finishes toasty with plenty of cocoa, some coffee & woody hops

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation

Tasting this blind, I wouldn't guess this style would've guessed Coffee Stout. Still very drinkable. Deductions for flavor & overall due to the wandering off the trail

Canned 1/31/24; drank 2/23/24 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque brown/orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big, noisy tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lacing remained.

Medium roast coffee bean & cocoa notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Cocoa powder flavors up front; medium roast coffee bean & some fresh earth notes on the finish.

A bit roast-y/sweet for the style; it's not bad, but both breweries have done much better stuff.

16 oz. can poured into a short, stout mug. Canned 1-31-24.

L -- Clear, deep dark brown with ruby highlights and a dense, long-lasting cream colored head.

S -- Roasted malts, light chocolate, light herbal hops and the fresh variety of DMS.

T -- Fleeting, sweet, bready malts up front that quickly fold into roasted malts with a touch of smoke -- even burnt note. Herbal bitterness back. Aftertaste is the same roasted malts in the mid palate that become somewhat harsh on the palate.

F -- Mouthfeel is soft to dry with a robust body.

O -- Maybe a little too one-dimensional on the roasted side -- could use a touch more sweetness, even some rich esters. Might be over-attenuated, but there's no big alcohol character. Well-made and highly drinkable, nonetheless. But probably a one and done per sitting.

Mahoghany tone, black in the glass, ample khaki foam with plenty of lacing.

Dry roasty malt aroma, dark chocolate covered fried plantains.

Nutty, roasty, rich malt character. Bakers chocolate, toasted almonds.

Medium bodied, creamy texture, dry finish. Ample carb, easy drinking. Overall it’s a pitch perfect rendition of the style.

As a collaboration, this could also be listed under Roaring Table. But I am more familiar with Art History, I admire their labels greatly and they had it on their tap list so seem to take more ownership.

I drank a glass from the cask at The Beer Temple as part of their celebration of Baltic Porter Day 2024. It Looked great, a nice foam that stuck around as lace. Smells were as good as a much stronger brew, as the Baltic Porter usually is. I had this with lunch and the chili bended my buds a bit too much to appreciate the brew. More than medium-mouthed, it soothed my palate. The Continental System was the quality I'd expect from AHB. I give healthy Overall Hugs because it is a collab and because its ABV suited lunch. Now to review it, I just need to drink another glass from the tap.... or one from their beautiful cans.
