Pours a deep amber, two fingers of head, quickly dissipates. Smell is bready, malty, trace caramel. Taste carries much of the bready notes, introduces some minor hop presence with a very malty backbone. Moderate carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Finish is dry, somewhat bitter. Very clean and refreshing lager.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark coppery amber with a one finger old ivory head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of biscuit malt, nuts, brown bread and light cocoa. Flavor is dark biscuit malt, nuts, brown bread crust and cocoa; more cocoa in the finish with moderate, faintly grassy bitterness. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A nice example of this style with a winning flavor profile with good nut and cocoa notes. Flavor density is a bit light, but in harmony. Better than average moderately creamy mouth feel. Enjoyable. Glad these darker Czech lagers have become popular with brewers.

16oz can served in a big snifter. Canned on 04/1?/24. Bought it at Chuck's Hop Shop Seward Park yesterday.

Pours dark, clear amber, small to medium sized head, very fine carbonation. Smell is light coffee, some chocolate, lots of nuts and toffee.

Taste is dark malt bomb. An intense amber for amber lovers. Chocolate toffee and nut sweetness, chocolate coffee and almost burnt toffee bitterness.

Mouthfeel is medium to light, very dry and clean. Overall, really digging this beer.

Poured from 16oz can into my 8th Wonder chalice. Canned 11/28/23.

Appearance: lovely medium amber hue with a nearly-clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam with just a hint of a reddish tint to it. Looking really good, I’d say!

Smell: light malt with a bit of a caramelly sweetness and perhaps a hint of biscuit. Not too bad.

Taste: malty with a bit of caramel and an interesting fruitiness. The biscuit from the aroma is pared back in the flavor, and the light fruitiness really adds something for me. I find the flavor growing on me as I sip this glass … it’s really good.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this beer is tasty and nicely drinkable. One of the few amber-type beers that suits my palate well!

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my .5L dimple mug. Date stamp is 3/07/2023. The beer pour a bright clear chestnut color with a fluffy beige colored head of 1cm . This foam fades to nothing by halfway through the sampling. No lattice on my glass.
Aroma is nutty and wheat bread with a little caramel. Hints of herbal tea hops create some balance, but the nose is definitely more malt forward.
First sip reveals a light crisp textured body with fine tingly carbonation. Beer drinks very easy on physical traits.
Flavor is again some wheat bread and caramel with a bit of toasted grain note here and less of the nutty character. I also get a slight bitterness and herbal tea note again that balances more here and dries out my palate after each sip.
Never any hint of the ABV on this very drinkable malty lager. Quite nice and glad to have had the opportunity to drink this one.

Poured at fridge temp from a can. Pours an amber color with about an inch of white head. Opaque. Nice looking.

The nose is grainy, caramel, rye spice, bread, and a slight melon note. Very nice.

The taste is super smooth with mild sweetness and a touch of woody bitterness. That melon note comes through on the taste. Cantaloupe, honey dew. Leather, oak, candy, caramel, and bread. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a really nice mix of bitter and sweet on the aftertaste. Very enjoyable overall.

On tap at the brewery, Seattle.
Rich amber-red; cinnamon-spice candy; caramel + cracker, grass, touch of plum, + some richness; crisp + clean.

Deep crystal, like ESB, but sweeter. Clean lager finish. Soo sessionable. Stellar example of a Czech Amber.

On point! When you come home from the Czech Republic, you always want to relish the incredibly drinkable, and refreshing Beer you enjoyed there. Thanks for coming VERY close to the original. Very friendly folks, and enjoyed the visit.
