16-ounce can purchased at ABV in Hillsboro, OR. Date stamp reads "BB 10/2023". Poured in a nonic half-pint.
Note: The label says this has an ABV of 4.5%, as opposed to the 5.5% listed above.
Look:
Body is a slightly hazy pale straw color. Head is snowy white and thin, and quickly shrinks to an uneven skin with a tenacious ring at the edge of the glass. Leaves some lacing behind.
Smell:
Cereal-like, slightly sweet malt. Hint of sulfur. Light hit of grassy hops in the finish.
Taste:
Starts with a real nice toasted malt flavor. Grainy and somewhat cracker-ish through the middle. Not too sweet. Finishes with a touch more bitterness than I was expecting. Clean and refreshing.
Feel:
Light-bodied with brisk carbonation. Crisp finish.
Overall:
Sometimes you just want a beer-flavored beer, and you could do a lot worse than this one. Clean, well-made, no off-flavors. The toasty malt flavors and mild hoppy finish lift this one up a notch. I'm glad I tried it
