Roasty flavor & a clean lager base make for an enjoyable spring sipper. Unfortunately, it won't help you see in the dark.

Bought two cans from Beer Drop, steadily expanding from Colorado-centric to offerings from the Northwest.
Darkvision is a nice Schwarzbier, so says the 179 ratings averaging 3.91 on UnTappd.
Despite its uninviting name, Darkvision Looks attractive with a good foam that stays active the length of the session. Smells seem slightly better than average for the style, mostly malt. Only in the Taste do the roasted bittersweet malts come through; but all stays balanced and finishes dry enough. At 5 ABV, Darkvision has a medium-mouth and cleanses the palate. It does this so well that I think I'll have the second can with a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch.
My first from Varietal, I went on their website and they don't reveal much to me about their market niche or motives. Outside of some humorous swag, I'm guessing they are just a five year old trying to make it through a recurring Covid in a small town about equi-distant from the Northwest's two beer capitals, Portland and Seattle. Under those trying circumstances, even a five year old should figure out clearly what they are about. Nice lager, Prost !
1/6/22 I didn't have this second can of Darkvision with the grilled cheese sandwich hoped for above. But, I did enjoy it at sunset contemplating the mess this country is in from the pernicious lies that have been spread shamelessly in recent years. Despite that depressing development, I didn't change my rating or review.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
