Throw away the OJ and dive into your new hop fling. This hazy, luscious hop juice is a tropical fruit part with just enough pine dankness to keep it from moving down south.
Heavy whirlpool and dry hop additions of Citra, Simcoe, Columbus and Cascade make this crusher the fruit banger of your hazy dreams.

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. Canned September 25/25. My 8th beer from the Picton, Ontario brewery, and 1st for 2026. Radically recommended by Gracie the cat...

473 mL can from the LCBO, included in Prince Eddy's Beach Box mixed pack. Dated Apr 7 2025 and served barely chilled. This is pretty old, especially for an IPA, but I suppose that's what I get for buying a "beach box" in November.
Pours a hazy golden-orange colour, generating two fingers of soapy, resilient white head that lasts for more than five minutes. A frothy quarter-inch cap and thick collar last for considerably longer, caking the glass with a generous coat of lace as it very slowly recedes. Bready, wheaty malts on the nose, as well as hints of honeydew melon, grapefruit, berries and earthy, vaguely spicy hops.
It's alright - a backbone of bready, wheaty pale malt sweetness provides structural support for flavours of passion fruit, berries and cantaloupe. Grapefruit pithiness, orange peel, pine resin and earthy, floral hops round out the tail end of the sip, concluding with a slightly resiny, dank aftertaste that lingers for a moment or two; there's some light acidity/hop burn. Medium in body, with moderate carbonation that lends some bite to this brew's smooth, fluffy mouthfeel. Not too difficult to knock back, but one serving per night seems like plenty.
Final Grade: 3.7, an adequate B grade. Prince Eddy's Haze Brigade is a serviceable, if unremarkable IPA that I neither love nor dislike. The profile seems a little Simcoe-heavy - not that I'm complaining, but the piney, resiny flavours are not entirely appropriate and/or advantageous for this hazy IPA. Given this sample's age, I'd be willing to give this another shot if I come across a fresh can - however, I'm not getting any indications that this IPA is much better than the average Ontario alternative. Worth a shot, at least.

473ml can served cold into a chalice. Canning date of Mar 25, 2021.
Appearance - Hazy pale golden color with a small finger of white head head. Modest staying power.
Smell - Juicy tropical nose with mango, pineapple, orange and some melon. Light bready malts play about in the background. Elements of peach as well.
Taste - Fairly sweet tropical flavors with cantaloupe, melon and hints of mango and lychee. Low bitterness and high sweetness. Elements of peach.
Mouthfeel - Medium body, lower than average carbonation and high drinkability.
Overall - Solid IPA, nothing earth-shattering and leaning towards to sweet, but still tasty and worth a tipple or two. Reminds me of a slightly lesser quality Short Hills IPA from Bench, which is one of my favorite local IPA's, so that's pretty high praise indeed.

This brew claims to be a New England IPA, but nothing could be further from the truth. Sure the pale orange colour and the nose of honey, peach and mango may hint at this but once you taste it, you quickly realize that this isn't an NEIPA. Too watery, to malty and too bitter for an NEIPA.
Not a bad beer, it is refreshing and decent tasting but if you want to play with the big boys, you have to step up to the plate in earnest. This is a minor league beer.
