473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $4.25 CDN.
Appearance Slightly hazy golden colored brew. Two fingers of short lived white head rest on top. Some visible bubbles.
Smell - Big aromatics, pineapple and mango mostly. Kiwi might be in there too. Rather sweet on the nose, even relative to other similar IPA's/ DIPA's.
Taste - Bold flavors of mango and pineapple, with some other citrus. Passionfruit in there too. Juicy and sweet with a touch of a piney bitterness towards the end that keeps this balanced. Not super boozy but the 8% ABV is noticeable here. A tiny bit metallic on the first couple of sips but none of that afterwards.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied, good carbonation finishes juicy and then the mouth drying effect comes in afterwards.
Overall - Pretty good DIPA, I've had this brew three different times in the last week or so and the first was at a social event, second from the can at home and third, this review under ideal conditions. Pong Lord impressed me the most in that third rendition and with a sweet aroma and flavor but just enough pine balance, this is a very good DIPA that is well worth a tipple.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 26 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours a foggy, sediment-laden golden-amber colour, capped with one inch of frothy, foamy white head that fizzles off within two minutes. A respectable smattering of stringy lace has been tossed about in its wake, with a tight, creamy collar and filmy cap staying put. Mildly boozy-sweet & muddled aroma with lots going on - I'm getting notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit, passion fruit and peach, as well as lesser hints of pineapple, kiwi and pine.
A pleasantly fruity-tasting IPA: citrus initially, including orange juice and grapefruit pith, with passion fruit, mango and stone fruit not far behind. Earthy hop bitterness towards the finish, with hints of pineapple & mango lasting into a boozy (for 8%) aftertaste. Full bodied, with moderately low carbonation that gently agitates the surface of the palate; feels smooth, soft and a little fluffy on the tongue. Fair drinkability for a DIPA.
Final Grade: 3.76, squeaking out a B+. Pong Lord is quite possibly the best Prince Eddy's beer I've tried so far... but this is such a competitive style, and I don't really think it stands out amongst the crowd of Ontario DIPA alternatives. It's totally worth a shot, and I'd consider picking it up again, but it's not a beer I'd go out of my way for.
