Attractive foamy pour with clear yellow amber brew in the Orval chalice. Aromatic with the usual Belgian yeasty phenols. Quite sweet and cereal tasting. Pronounced dried pear fruit flavor. Some sweetness into the aftertaste. Below average carbonation.
Hops are listed as Northern Brewer and Mittelfreuh. Easy to drink with the wine and apple flavors, but certainly more robust in the yeast flavors than I would prefer. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.
