From the can, it pours a clear light yellow color with a nice white head that slowly reduces to a nice ring. The nose gets a grainy scent with some grassiness. The mouth follows with a malty flavor with some hop bitterness. Aftertaste is a light bitterness.

Local Lager has a very thick, white head, and a hazy, sediment-filled yellow appearance, with a descending cloud, following the "swish & pour". The aroma is of rich barley and cracker. The flavor is similar, with mild, grassy hop bitterness. Local Lager has a medium body and a dry finish.

Poured from can into pilsner glass. Poured light, clear straw color with thick white head and a healthy amount of carbonation. Hints of corn, straw, malts on the nose. Taste followed aroma with clean, crisp finish. Light bodied and certainly a better take on the style than the popular macro brews. Local to me as well. Great beer for a summer evening.

Canned 12oz beer with best by date of March 2021. Really enjoying this in a mix-a-six. Three Notch'd is one of our local brewers and I figured I'd try a few, although the label description is a little too modest. That description as noted previously says "don't look for subtle notes or intricate flavors", but what this lager does have is clean notes, a nice biscuit aspect, slightly sweet but not cloying, and just nice overall. It's a Helles on my tongue, and a quite nice one. Local fresh beer, yes please.

Bought in cans on a whim. Labeled as a limited release. Also on the label: "Don't even bother looking for subtle notes or intricate flavor profiles." This beer needs some more self-confidence, because it's one of the most enjoyable beers I've had in a long time. Looks beautifully bright and golden, smells biscuity, tastes very rich and biscuity, and still feels light enough to enjoy on a hot day. Overall I hope this sticks around, at least though the summer, because it's great. Hopefully quarantine ends in time to enjoy this with others. Worth the price point above standard macro lagers.
