DATE: August 12, 2022... OCCASION: a Wallenpaupack twofer--another one enjoyed with Billy at the lake house... GLASSWARE: Duvel snifter... pours clean, opaque and slightly sallow, with central effervescence building a quarter-finger of off-white smeared head that creates an island in the glass's middle... lacing is a trace of coral... rye spice is front and center, with German hops creating a diverse, meadow-like aroma evoking a wide expanse of grassy fields... pepper, light ash, dry grape and punchy citrus make this an aroma that invites sipping--yet fits its ABV nicely... smooth, slightly chewy, but rather easy as its 6% ABV eases to the throat... pepper, nicotine, dry grape, citrus kick, and rye make this a beer worth mulling over... like many average-ABV saisons, not too intense or demanding... a nice sidekick for a longer evening,...
